We want to wish our entire Enrico community a very happy holiday season! From our retailers, to our sales force, to our suppliers here and abroad, and all the people behind the scenes who are connected to Enrico, we recognize how important every person is to making our company what it is today.

What a shame to find out that recently a pop-up store has appeared in one of Seattle’s great neighborhoods selling items similar to our RootWorks collection. It’s not that we mind an enterprising entrepreneur trying to sell products like ours, it’s that they are outright lying about the source of the products, the finishes used, the method of production, even the species of tree they come from. It’s astonishing that someone feels it is reasonable to tell consumers bald-faced lies in order to sell something…maybe more astonishing is that they think they will get away with it in this world of high speed communication. So if you are wandering Ballard and someone with a number of cool root items tells you they are carved by artisans in Oregon, that they come from rejected Noble Fir Christmas tree stumps, that their roots grow together naturally into handles, and that the finish is two coats of water-based lacquer + mineral oil, you will know it’s simply not true. To learn the truth about Enrico’s RootWorks carved root bowls and platters follow this link: http://ow.ly/84vkn

Did you know that our Mangocraft collection is made entirely from reclaimed plantation mango trees? After a number of decades of producing fruit in Thai mango plantations the trees cease bearing fruit. These trees are then culled from the plantation and new seedlings are planted in their place. We buy the wood and our skilled artisans transform them into the many lovely designs we call Mangocraft. The wood chips from production are even used to power the drying kilns, so there is practically no waste from the process. It’s really a unique source for a wonderful wood, and a sound, eco-intelligent use of natural resources.

Are you ready for the holidays? There’s still plenty of time to get your order in line for November merchandising. Speaking of merchandising, who has great ideas for displaying and selling Enrico’s eco-intelligent wooden tabletop and gift products? We’ve seen any number of product combinations, especially in the RootWorks collection. Add a small bowl on top of one of our large reclaimed wood platters and spur your customers’ imaginations; what will I put in that bowl to go with the veggies I’ll put on the tray? A spray of dried flowers or a bundle of your top-selling utensils in one of our hand-crafted vases turns it from a “how do I use this?” to an “I know where I’ll put this!”. Bundling sets of our small plates or platters with a colorful ribbon as a “tapas set” makes for a great ready-to-give gift. Hang a small gift tag with your store logo from the ribbon and let the recipient know where their beautiful and unique new treasures came from, and where they can buy more!

We’ve heard great success stories from retailers who use our salad bowls and platters as gift baskets. Add a few utensils or gadgets and some tasty gourmet treats, maybe a bottle of wine in a bed of excelsior, wrap it up beautifully, and watch them fly off the shelves as your customers race to get to that holiday gathering!

Briliant merchandising and display ideas? We’re always looking for the next great one, and we’d love to hear your stories and see your pictures. Send suggestions, questions, and photos to Info@EnricoProducts.com any time.
