Enrico ‘Casual’ Line Targets Lower Prices

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

SEATTLE— Enrico Products International’s new Casual Dining Collection, recently unveiled at the Gourmet Housewares Show and the New York International Gift Fair, was the company’s first collection targeting a lower pricepoint and mid-market specialty chain operations, Dave Hoots, owner/partner told HOMEWORLD BUSINESS®.

Enrico’s Casual Dining Collection comprised of 11 SKUs, including a three-in-one ceramic bowl sauce-server. Enrico has also introduced a utensil vase, serving platter and salad bowls with matching servers, available in either solid mango wood with an avocado green exterior or solid acacia with a natural finish.

Another addition is a leaf-shaped tray carved from mango and presented in a crimson and cream color combination. The collection also marks the company’s first entry into using color stains, said Hoots.

The collection has a suggested retail price range of $20 to $40. “Our response to this economy is going after these lower pricepoints,” said Hoots. He said that at that pricepoint level, what is lacking in the market is “something that had a visual interest and style, especially in salad sets. [What’s at retail] are made of cheap rubber wood, with very basic shapes. We’re more interested in getting some style in at a better price.”

The Casual Dining Collection begins shipping in early November. The collection is slated for expansion, with new products and new color selections in the early part of 2010.
