Enrico in Asia – Spring 2011

Friday, May 6th, 2011

We’re just back from a two week sojourn to trade shows in Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, and Bangkok, as well as factory tours and sourcing expeditions in Hanoi, Shanghai, some smaller cities in China, and Northern Thailand. It was a whirlwind of flights and hotels, trains, buses, and motorbikes, and yielded a whole crop of new ideas for 2011. What will we think of next?!  Stay tuned for new ideas in an ever-widening array of materials. We’re exploring some new takes on age-old materials like bamboo and other grasses, more natural materials combined with split or spun bamboo, and deepening our collection of root wood bowls and serveware. We’re also experimenting with some fantastic textures in carved mango and acacia decorative and serving items, and at the same time expanding our more utilitarian product lines with smart everyday-use items for the kitchen and table.  As always we’re holding to our goals of providing eco-intelligent sourcing and packaging practices – we want to innovate without creating unnecessary waste or impact.
